This is especially helpful during procedures requiring millimetric precision or when inserting needles at steeper angles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Avoid_Neurovascular_Structures\"><\/span><strong>1: Avoid Neurovascular Structures<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avoiding neurovascular bundles is crucial in musculoskeletal (MSK) procedures, and real-time ultrasound guidance significantly enhances your ability to do so safely. Research, including a Korean review in <em>Pain Physician Journal<\/em>, support the idea that <a href=\"https:\/\/painphysicianjournal.com\/current\/pdf?article=MTkxNA%3D%3D&amp;journal=75\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ultrasound-guided interventions reduce inadvertent nerve injuries<\/a> and vascular punctures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This becomes especially important when dealing with complex anatomy or patients with complicating factors\u2014such as post-surgical scarring, high body mass index (BMI), or advanced joint degeneration, where traditional landmarks may be obscured or unreliable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dynamic needle tracking proves essential in cases like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Performing sciatic nerve blocks in obese patients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aspiration of deeply seated Baker\u2019s cysts without damaging nearby vessels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Injecting into small or inflamed joints (e.g., wrist, ankle) with limited anatomical clarity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducting dry needling or tenotomy under direct visualization for chronic tendinopathy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Ensure_Accurate_Placement\"><\/span><strong>2: Ensure Accurate Placement<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A blind palpation-guided shoulder injection has a success rate of around 70%. Injections into the acromioclavicular joint show a similar trend, with success rates jumping from about 68% to over 94%.
